It was a chilly night in the little town of Whisperwood. Lila, a curious and kind-hearted bunny, was snuggled in her favorite blanket by the window. The stars twinkled brightly, but something felt… different.
Lila squinted at the sky. “One, two, three…” she counted, but then gasped. “The Little Sparkle Star is missing!”
The Little Sparkle Star was her favorite. It sat low in the sky and winked at her every night before she went to sleep. But tonight, it wasn’t there.
Lila’s heart fluttered. “Maybe it got lost! I have to find it.” She quickly wrapped her scarf around her neck and slipped on her fuzzy boots. She didn’t tell anyone—this was her special mission.
Outside, the air was crisp, and the world was quiet. Lila hopped into the meadow, where the fireflies danced. “Have you seen the Little Sparkle Star?” she asked them.
The fireflies buzzed, their tiny lights flickering. “Not here, but maybe the old owl knows,” one said.
Lila made her way to the big oak tree where Mr. Owl lived. He was wise and always awake at night.
“Excuse me, Mr. Owl,” Lila said, her nose twitching. “Have you seen the Little Sparkle Star?”
Mr. Owl flapped his wings. “Hoo-hoo! The star felt lonely and came to rest in the glimmering pond by the hill.”
Lila hopped faster than she ever had before. When she reached the pond, she gasped. There it was—the Little Sparkle Star—resting on the water, glowing softly.
“Oh, Little Star,” Lila whispered, “the sky feels empty without you.”
The star shimmered. “I just needed a friend.”
“Well, I’m your friend,” Lila said with a big smile. “Let me help you back home.”
Lila gently nudged the star with her paws, and together, they floated to a clearing. With one mighty hop, the star zipped back into the sky, twinkling brighter than ever.
Back in bed, Lila smiled as the Little Sparkle Star winked at her again.
And with that, she drifted off into the coziest, happiest dreams.
